23 Weeks

Another pregnancy update….things are starting to feel really real!! We are having this baby!! :-)

How far along: 23 weeks
Gender: G I R L :)
Weight gain: I’ll know on the 30th at my next doctors appt. I’m going to guess 6 lbs
Maternity clothes: Yes! But I do have a few shirts non-maternity I can still wear!
Belly button in or out: in
Sleep:  Terrible! It’s so bad that we are thinking about getting a new bed. It’s time and this gives us an extra excuse!
Best moment this week:  Kamryn felt the baby kick for the first time AND! Logan said “Hi Baby” to my belly and she kicked! This baby girl is already so loved!!
Miss anything: A good nights sleep and feeling like myself. I’m just really uncomfortable lately. The heat isn’t helping!
Movement: Yep! Those kicks and punches are getting more swift by the day!
Cravings:  Breakfast sandwiches on croissants. It’s turning into a daily thing! Oops!
Queasy or sick: Nope!
Looking forward to: Setting up the girls room. They are going to share. We just picked out the baby’s crib and bedding so things are starting to really feel REAL! Makes me so excited!

Happy 2nd Birthday Logan!

I can hardly believe my baby boy is two years old!
This year we have a lot going on, so not without guilt, we decided to not have a big party and to just celebrate Logan’s birthday here at home, just us. He loved every second of it and definitely knew it was his special day! At the end of the day, thats all that matters. It’s Logan’s day and my number one priority was that he have fun! And he sure did! I mean, what’s better than pizza and cupcakes?!?
I took Logan to his 2 year check up yesterday. He’s 29 lbs and 37 inches tall. I mentioned my concerns about his speech and our doctor assured me I have absolutely NOTHING to worry about! The past two weeks Logan has started to repeat everything! And I mean EVERYTHING! (we need to start watching what we say around him. lol) We aren’t by any means having full blown conversations yet but we’re getting there. Our pediatrician told me as long as I can look back at last month and he’s saying more this month, then he’s right on track! I can’t even count how many words he’s saying now but it has to be over 50, but that is a total guess. It’s probably more. He does a ton of animal noises, his favorite activity as of late. We definitely have to get to the zoo soon! I know he would love it!
Logan is a sweet sweet boy who loves to give hugs and kisses. He is Mama’s little boy, for sure. He has the most contagious smile, the biggest brown eyes and the best laugh I’ve ever heard! We are so thankful for him and the closer we get to the arrival of his baby sister its hitting home that he will be our one and only boy. It’s bittersweet. I am so thankful for Logan, I can’t imagine another little boy as my son, but deep down part of me wishes he was going to have a brother. But truthfully, he’s got the perfect personality to be between two sisters! I know he’s going to be the best big brother! This is going to be a big year for Logan.
Logan, we love you more than words can say! You are the most amazing little boy and we are having so much fun watching you grown and learn more and more everyday! You are definitely our little “macho man”! I can’t wait to see what this next year brings for you!
xoxo LOVE YOU!
Happy 2nd Birthday Logan Michael!

Gender Reveal Pictures

I have a few pictures I want to post here from the gender reveal party that my cousin took for us. I know you’re probably done with hearing about this and seeing pictures from it so you can disregard this post. This is more for me to look back on someday.
These are a few of my favorites pictures!

I was so nervous…I’m not sure why? I would’ve been extremely happy with either a boy or girl.

When we saw the pink! I knew Mike wanted a boy so I was dying to see his reaction. As you can see he was pleasantly surprised!

This is probably my favorite picture from the day. When we called Kamryn over to show her if she was having a baby brother or sister. Since I told her we were having a baby she has only talked about a baby sister and how much she wanted it to be a girl so I was so excited to show her! Her reaction was priceless and she can’t stop talking about her baby sister!!
As you can see in the background, Logan was less than impressed and would rather play with his trucks! Typical boy….

21 Weeks

I figured maybe I should blog a little about my pregnancy, at least then I may have a picture or two of my growing bump to look back on.

How far along: 21 weeks
Gender: a sweet baby girl
Weight gain: lbs (I feel as though I should explain this because the number seems so small. I lost 5 lbs at the beginning of my pregnancy because I was so sick and now I’m working on catching up, so yes, I’m only up 4 lbs but no worries baby is exactly the size she’s supposed to be!)
Maternity clothes: Oh yes!
Belly button in or out: in…it didn’t pop with Kamryn or Logan so I doubt it will this time…but we shall see.
Sleep:  Depends on the night. Most nights I sleep great, others I’m tossing and turning.
Best moment this week:  I THINK I (I’d say we but Mike has given me total control over her name) may have chosen a name. I’m keeping it a secret though. I know, I know it’s only been a few days since my big post on the baby name game but it kind of just hit me the other day. It’s funny because its not one of the two I mentioned before but the more I say it the more it feels right. So, lets see if this sticks!
Miss anything: Honestly, its the summer and I want a nice cold beer. Especially just coming off the holiday weekend. I’m not a big drinker even when not pregnant so this one is surprising to me.
Movement: This girl is a mover! Especially when I lay down in bed at night. She’s all over the place! I love it!!
Cravings:  Not really…
Queasy or sick: Nope! Just heartburn! UGH!
Looking forward to:  Buying some gear for the baby. I have 3 or 4 things I really want to purchase for her that I didn’t have with Kamryn and Logan. She’ll be here in just over 4 months and I’m ready to start getting things in place. AND! I’m ready to get rid of Logan’s baby clothes now that I won’t be needing them. Could I be getting ready to nest already?

The Baby Name Game

I’ll be the first to admit I am THE MOST indecisive person in the world. Anyone who knows me well won’t disagree with that statement. Pregnant or not, I can’t make a decision! So we can’t exactly blame the hormones on this one. The ones who would agree most with my indecisiveness is anyone who has been lucky enough to listen to me when it comes to baby names. There’s something about naming a baby. For all my kids I put so much thought into their names. I imagined them at all stages in their life. How they would carry their names. The spelling of their name. Hoping, praying, over thinking and asking way to many peoples opinions on the names every step of the way. I probably over-do it just a little but to me it’s one of the biggest decisions I can make. I don’t want anything too popular. I want to love their names-after all I’m the one who has to say it approximately 6,000 times a day. I like for Mike to be equally as involved, even if he’s kicking and screaming all the way. I want him to love their names just as much. And more importantly I hope my kids love their names too.

Kamryn Alexis- her first name was one of the first names Mike and I mentioned when we found out we were expecting her. And then of course, we entertained other names. None seemed to feel “perfect” so one day it just hit me and I randomly said “Mike, let’s just name her Kamryn!” He agreed and then I let him choose the spelling. We always knew her middle name would be Alexis after my sister. Believe it or not middle names for all my kids were picked out long before first names.
Logan Michael- he was supposed to be Grant. Until others offered up their opinions on the name and changed Mike’s mind. At the time, I could’ve killed him. I had fallen head over heels for the name Grant and couldn’t picture my son with any other name. I may have even shed a tear or two when he told me we absolutely were not using it! So then came in Logan. It was a name I always loved but at first Mike wasn’t sold. For some reason this time when I brought it up he actually loved it. So we went with that. Plus, our wedding reception was at the Hyatt Hotel located at Logan Airport, so we thought that was a pretty cool coincidence. Michael-obviously after his Daddy. Wouldn’t have it any other way.
Baby #3- Oh, my final baby. Our second little girl. Little sister to Kamryn and Logan. Why does this time seem so different? Probably because it’s so final. I feel like we REALLY need to get it right this time! Everything needs to be perfect! Her name, how we spell it, how it flows with our last name (a whole other problem that comes up while naming all of the kids), how it goes with Kamryn and Logan-Especially Kamryn. Truth is, when we named Kamryn I never thought of other babies. I was 23 and truly thought it would be a long LONG time until we had more babies. If at all. Little did I know….. But her name and the spelling are unique. I can’t exactly name her little sister “Adeline”, if just wouldn’t fit. So finding the perfect name for Kamryns little sister has proven to be somewhat difficult.

So I know I announced that her name would be Elliot. We’ve been struggling with settling on a spelling. Elliot-Eliot-Elliott, seem to be our favorites. Truth is I’ve been thinking of another name I love just as much lately. One that equally, if not more, goes well with Kamryn and Logan. It’s pretty, unique, unisex (like Kamryn) and (my dad is sure to love this) starts with a K, just like her Mama and sister. Her middle name will definitely be Bree. In true Kristen and Mike fashion, middle name is set. But I’m beginning to think I shouldn’t of jumped the gun and announced what I thought would be her name. We do have until November after all. Thankfully we haven’t gotten anything monogrammed and I’m pretty positive no one has had her name engraved on anything.

This ended up being a lot longer than I originally intended. Basically I’m just venting. But, for now, I’m not sure if baby girl will be Elliot or K? (I’m keeping the name a secret so this decision is kept between Mike and I) I know no matter what we choose it’ll be perfect! So do I wait til she’s born and we pick a name then? Or do we talk about it until we’re blue in the face and come to a decision? I don’t know? I guess only time will tell! But seriously, this baby name game is no joke! I am exhausted! I hope “Baby Girl” loves her name (whatever it may be) and someday can come back here, read this, and see her Mama and Daddy did not take the decision lightly! Until then….let’s all hold off on any personalized items! ;-)
