I look at every new decade of my life as a new beginning. I know some people think that sort of thing is silly. Especially on New Years. I however, do not. I love the idea of a clean slate. Life can be hard and stressful and chaotic. Thinking its all wiped clean and you can start over, isn’t all that bad of a concept. I embrace new beginnings. Plus, when we look back on our lives you always hear people say things like “In my 20s … In my 30s.” I think we all group our life into decades.
So, I thought today I’d write down my hopes and dreams for my 30s. Some of these may happen, some of these probably won’t. But….why not dream?! I’ll never stop hoping and dreaming.
-finally get the house in order//get more organized
-renovate both bathrooms and kitchen
-be the best mama I can be
-financial stability
-build our dream home (here or in another state)
-travel A LOT
-start my own small business, whatever that may be
-help Mike start an electrical business
-stop caring about what everyone thinks
-be more patient
-be kinder
-be more understanding
-make more time for date nights with my husband
-make more time for family nights out
-get into a groove as a family of 6
-remember it’s okay not to know what the future holds
-always remember this is your life. Your journey. Nobody else’s. You don’t owe anyone an explanation.
-enjoy your family life//stress less
-guide Lexi in whatever way I can to help her get into into a good college
-watch her succeed and graduate college (you can do it Lou!!)
-make more time for extended family
-make more time for friends
-be better to yourself health and fitness wise
-build your confidence
-BE HAPPY!
I think that’s a good start. I have heard over and over again from many people that their 30s were the best years of their life. They finally came to understand who they are. They became more confident. Life just made sense. etc etc This makes me look forward to my 30s more than anything else. My Grammy told me when she hit 30 everything came together for her. I am hoping the same happens for me! As my 20s came to an end I had those feelings of not wanting to turn 30. But when I really think of it, I think I’m just on the cusp of a very special time.
