7 months ago today Mike and I were just getting used to being parents. Still very unsure of what exactly we were doing as the nurses at South Shore Hospital assured us we would be fine.We we’re coming home from the hospital today. We were excited to get home to our own bed and see Gretzky. After 31 hours of being in the hospital before Kamryn was even born. Then a full day of recovery after that. We felt as though we had been there for a week! Looking back I really don’t know what the rush was, the hospital was the easy part. People waiting on you, making sure you have everything you need. At night they would take Kamryn to the nursery for 5-6 hours and I would actually get some much needed sleep. At the time I hated being at the hospital, we ended up checking out a day early. We were so eager to get home and very anxious to see how Gretzky would be with Kamryn.
We made it home! I was so nervous that Gretzky was going to be mad at us. We left alone 3 days ago in what seemed like a mad dash and came back with this baby. A baby that was now going to be the center of our universe. The place where Gretzky had been for the past year. To our surprise and much relief, what seemed like a curious Gretzky quickly turned into a protective Gretzky. Where ever Kamryn was Gretzky was right there. We laughed about how he thought she was his baby (he still does lol).
Kamryn has never given us an issue with sleeping. Since we brought her home she would sleep at night for a 4-6 hour stretch. At 4 weeks old she was up to 7 hours straight. And now she sleeps 12 hours!!
7 short months later Kamryn has mastered many many tricks….she began to roll over at 5 months, started crawling at 6 months and standing in her crib too! She says Dada and bubba, she can stand on her own not holding on to anything, and she can feed herself finger foods. She can walk while holding someones hands, and on her own with her walker toy. At times she will be so laid back without a care in the world but most of the time she is one mischievous lady!! She is just curious about everything and wondering what she can get into next! Don’t let her fool you, she knows exactly what shes doing, she shoots a cute smile at you before she goes after something she knows shes not supposed to have. She is just so alert and attentive and super smart! Sorry, I might be bragging a little too much, but it is my right as a mother to do so.

7 months ago we had no idea what we were in for and now 7 months later we could not be happier. Thinking back to that first night at home from where we are now, it just seems like a completely different world.
Kamryn continues to make us smile and laugh, surprise us, and keep us on our toes! She melts our hearts every single day!
