Baby #2 -- 13 weeks

I decided to keep you updated on my pregnancy. I know, I know this may get annoying (you can always not read it if you don’t want to) but I really want to look back at this years from now and remember how I felt. Lets be honest, after Kamryn was born I got what I like to call “pregnancy amnesia” and I barely remember my pregnancy. So here we go….

Okay, first of all lets talk about how quickly I began to show this time. Last time I swear I was almost 5 months along before anyone could even remotely tell I was pregnant. This time around, I am 13 weeks and couldn’t hide it if I tried!! I knew this was coming, I’ve heard from everyone you show quicker in your second pregnancy but its still very weird! It does make it a little more exciting though.

How Far Along: 13 weeks
Size of baby: 3 inches long
Total Weight Gain: none yet.
Maternity Clothes: Not yet, though I’m feeling the urge to take them out of the boxes. And I’ve been doing some online window shopping to see what’s out there!
Gender: ??? (make sure you vote in the poll!)
Movement: Nothing yet.
Sleep: Not enough! I am not tired when Kamryn is napping but 4 in the afternoon hits and I am beyond exhausted. I napped all the time when I was pregnant with Kamryn but being pregnant with a 2 year old is no joke!
What I miss: Feeling “normal”. I am definitely feeling better for the most part but if I don’t eat right on schedule the nausea kicks in like crazy!! Thank God for Zofran!!
Cravings: nothing yet…
Symptoms: Nausea. The vomiting has subsided THANK GOD!! And straight up exhaustion!
What I’m looking forward to: Being able to enjoy food and then feeling normal while the food digests!

Everyone always asks me “What do you think your having?”. I’ll be honest, I do have a gut instinct. When I was pregnant with Kam I just knew. I swear to you, I didn’t even have to go to the gender reveal ultrasound, I just knew deep down in my heart that I was pregnant with a girl. Of course I went because I am a planner and NEEDED to know for sure! HA! My Mom says she always knew with her babies too, so maybe it runs in the family?

And of course we get the question: Any names yet? We think we have our names set but have decided to keep those a secret until the end. Let’s see if I can last until the end…I am SO bad at keeping secrets when they are my own!! A huge factor in keeping the names a secret is because people can be really really opinionated about baby names. I’ll be honest I let quite a few go when I was pregnant with Kamryn because of peoples reactions. Mike and I really love the names we have picked out and they have special meaning to us so we really don’t want anyone’s reactions to sway us either way. (No, Dad I’m sorry they don’t start with a K.)

In Just 6 Months....

In just 6 months Kamryn will be a big sister. Baby Sass #2 is due this July! We couldn’t possibly be more excited! I have had very very bad morning all day sickness. I was sick with Kamryn too but this time definitely seems to be worse. I don’t know if its because I can’t rest like I could with my first pregnancy but I am doing my best to keep positive and hoping everyday that it gets better soon. Of course, it’ll all be so worth it! The baby’s heartbeat is 161BPM and everything looked great!

Thanksgiving & Christmas recap

I am happy to report all is good in the Sass house. I can’t believe because of how bad my morning sickness was that I never blogged about Thanksgiving, Christmas or Kamryn’s 2nd birthday! FINALLY the morning sickness has pretty much subsided and I can actually function like a normal human being. Unfortunately because I was so sick I don’t have very many pictures of Thanksgiving and Christmas. I’ll just recap really fast….
Thanksgiving:
This year we celebrated Thanksgiving at home, which was wonderful. It was something Mike and I really wanted to do. It was our first Thanksgiving in our home so we thought we would make it extra special. Although, we did miss seeing our extended families. My mom, step dad, brother and sister came for dinner and Mikes dad, his girlfriend and both of Mike’s brothers came to join all of us for desert. It was the most stress free holiday I can remember. Our biggest worry was when we would get the meal on the table. I’d take that any day over traveling all over creation and spending 75% of our day in the car. I think I’ll volunteer to do Thanksgiving every year.
Christmas:
And then it seems we blinked our eyes and it was Christmas. This year was so much fun! Kamryn was so excited and even though she didn’t get the whole concept of Santa it was pretty cool to try to explain it to her. We had a blast!! She loved everything about Christmas. The lights, the tree, Santa, EVERYTHING!! We started quite a few traditions this year and I can’t wait to continue them next year with the new baby as well. Christmas eve we went to Pappi and GranDee’s house and then to a family friends for a party later that night. Kamryn was up SO late but did wonderfully! Christmas morning was one to remember. She was so excited!! After a nice quiet morning we went to Mike’s grandmothers house and then to my moms house for dinner. It was very quiet this year because my grandmother and grandfather took a much deserved trip to the islands. As always we had a wonderful time!
Kamryn’s 2nd Birthday:
(look back at Dec 31st post)
