Our Big Girl

How does time go by so fast? I ask myself this question often. Kamryn is quickly leaving the toddler days behind and turning into a little girl. She needs to slow down! Doesn’t she know she’s only 2!?! The “baby talk” is quickly turning into sentences and she’s learning so much each and every day. I don’t know how this happened. In just 16 short weeks Kamryn will no longer be our one and only but a big sister. Which in a weird way makes me a little sad.
For over 2 years Kamryn has been the center of our world and now we are adding another baby to the mix. I am confident that she will be a great big sister. Kamryn has never met someone who she didn’t like. She warms up to just about anyone and is so happy in just about every situation. Being a stay at home mom and having very few people in our life with kids the same age as Kamryn had me a little concerned about how she would interact with other kids. But Kamryn surprises me with every new kid she meets. She is very good at sharing, loves to play and enjoys when other kids around. She just adjusts so well to each and every situation.

We’ve been having play dates every other week with my cousin Jenn and her daughter Olivia, who is 3 weeks older than Kam. After Olivia warms up (she’s not quite as out going as Kamryn) the girls have so much fun! It’s so cute watching them interact and listening to their little conversations. They are like two little old ladies when they get going. Jenn and I were very close growing up and still remain close. I hope Kamryn and Olivia will be life long friends just as Jenn and I are.
Mike and I have been tossing around the idea of sending Kamryn to preschool in the Fall. Just 2 days a week and only 2.5 hours a day. We may go check out a school, here in Plymouth, this summer and then decide if we want to do it this year or next year. We are so torn! Part of us knows she would do great and it would be so wonderful for her to get out of the house and make some friends and the other part of us (the selfish/don’t want to let go part) thinks she’s still a little too young.
We recently framed one of Logan’s ultrasound pictures and Kamryn always points to it and says “Mama! Look it! Logan!” She often talks about her “baby brudder”. It’s so sweet and melts my heart every time. I can’t wait to see her in action. She’s going to be great!
The personality on this kid absolutely kills me! (You can get a glimpse of it in these pictures) Her personality is really bigger than she is. She is so amazing and Mike and I couldn’t possibly be more proud! We are so blessed
