When all else fails...

I have been terribly sick with an awful cough. It keeps me up at night and last night I didn’t get much sleep at all. What else can you do when you can’t sleep but think, right? Whats the most important thing on my mind right now? What we are going to name our new baby. It’s a really exciting time for us with only 3.5 months until her arrival.
Shortly after we found out she was a girl we “announced” we would name her Everly. Pretty quickly I figured out that was a bad idea. Most of you who read this know us in real life but if you don’t, we live about an hour (give or take) south of Boston. Majority of our friends and family live right outside the city and/or in the city. Their Boston accents are SERIOUS. I say that with so much love. In Boston R’s do not exist. So a beautiful name like Everly gets turned into Evahly. Sad to say, for me, that takes away from the name and it just doesn’t sound as pretty. Kind of like a boy named Cooper, who turns into Coopah. It just doesn’t sound the same and if I’m being honest, I don’t really like it. So, it has become more than obvious to me that I personally, cannot name my daughter Everly. Luckily, we have a few back up names we kept on the back burner.

I know what you’re thinking but bare with me, this will be fun I promise. People give me A LOT of crap for being indecisive when it comes to naming my babies. What better way to embrace that than to let all of you in on this baby naming journey. This will be our last baby, that I am sure of! I’m not sure of a lot of things but #4 being it is a definite!! We are probably about 75% sure of what we will name her. We’ve told a small SMALL amount of people, siblings and close friends (we haven’t told our parents) and it seems 50/50 on if they like it or not. Gotta love honest people! But, we still have 2 other names we like. I won’t be letting on to any of you what the name we’re leaning towards is because I don’t want to sway anyone’s decisions.

Finley Sass

Eliot Sass

Berkley Sass

None of the names have any particular story behind them or meaning of any significance. They are just three names we like. If you follow along you have seen Eliot before. Yes, Eliot is on the list. We went back and forth but decided we still love the name Eliot A LOT. When it came down to it there wasn’t anything wrong with the name itself, it just didn’t feel right for Kensie. But maybe, just maybe, it’ll be the right name for this baby. 

So, just for fun…I’m not saying I will go with the results of this, but I made a poll at the top of the blog. I’m not above making fun of the fact that I (meaning we, because really its Mike and I) can’t make a decision to say my life. Let’s consider it a baby name focus group of sorts, I hear they are all the rage these days! Maybe I’ll be inspired! Chances are you still won’t know her name until shes born, but doesn’t this make it a little fun? No, just me? Whatever….humor me! (I know my dad will call me soon giving me crap about this. Love you Peege!!)
