31 Weeks

It’s funny, with each pregnancy I’ve taken more and more pictures. With Kamryn I think there’s 2 “belly pics”, Logan maybe 3 or 4, I tried to do monthly with Kensington – definitely have the most with her, and this time I’ve been trying to take them here and there. I’ve done my best and for the most part have been pretty consistent. I’ve never had professional pictures taken of myself pregnant, which I’ve always wanted but they can be extremely pricey and never quite fit into our budget. Which is fine, trust me I’d rather buy myself new boots instead of going to a photo shoot that I feel extremely uncomfortable. LOL!
We got a fairly good snowstorm last night where we were left with 8.5 inches. I’ve always thought maternity pictures in the snow were just beautiful and really wanted to have some of my own. So,as much as I would’ve rathered stay in my pajamas all day I decided to get dressed and have Lexi take some pictures for me. We were outside for a total of 5 minutes but Lex did a great job. Thanks Lexi!!
As of today I am 31 weeks along and absolutely feeling it. My back is killing me and I’m not getting nearly enough sleep because it’s so hard to get comfortable. I make pregnancy sound so enjoyable, don’t I?

Nicknames

I often wonder how some people go through life without nicknames. Like, how did your parents and you convince everyone to not shorten your name? I’m honestly not a fan of naming a baby one thing with the intent to call them another. I truthfully picked all 3 (almost 4, but we won’t get into her name) of my kids names with full intention of only calling them by their full names. But sooner, like way sooner, than later they all had nicknames and soon I was calling them by said nicknames. And I’m not talking nickname nicknames I’m talking – Michael – Mike, Kristen – Kris, Zachary – Zack, James – Jim…etc etc. Both Mike and I come from families where everyone has a nickname!!
Kamryn quickly became Kam
Logan instantly was Logi
And before I could get over announcing her name Kensington was Kensie
I actually asked Mike recently if he thought I could change it up and we could drop Kensie completely and only call her Kensington. He looked at me like I was crazy, naturally…I’m used to that. I just really really love her full name and I really really wish more people used it. Sigh….but I digress, 99.9% of people call her Kensie and probably will continue to.
With #4 I’m trying really hard to choose a name that won’t be shortened. Think I’ll have any luck?? Guess we’ll see!
Speaking of #4, I get to see her precious face Tuesday when I go in for an ultrasound. I can hardly wait! With only 11 weeks until her due date I’m really looking forward to seeing some facial structure and trying to guess who she looks like. Seeing how Logan and Kensington look exactly alike I’m hoping this time we get a mini-Kamryn. Although, I don’t know if my heart could handle another blue eyed red headed baby!! Be still my heart!!! Fingers crossed!!
And because it’s too cute for words….here’s a pic of my babies excited for the snow!

Our First Snowfall of the Season

November and December were abnormally warm for New England. Christmas Eve and Christmas Day we hit around 60 degrees. No complaints here! I didn’t even have to put jackets on the kids while running from house to house….it was awesome!
We knew it was coming. It always does….SNOW!
On Monday afternoon it began to snow and was supposed to stop by 4am but we woke up Tuesday morning and it was REALLY snowing. It was frigid outside, 19 degrees but felt like 5 with the windchill. It was snowing a lot and super windy. But it was the nice fluffy snow so nothing too bad. We ended up with about 4 inches, I’d say. The kids got to play out in it. Mama wasn’t scared to drive in it. (if you know me you know I absolutely hate to drive in the snow) We still had school. All was good!
And my kiddos….well, lets just say this, not much makes them more excited than snow!
