There’s been a lot of stuff happening lately that haven’t made me smile but I think it’s so important to stay positive, even through the rough times. So here are some random things that are making me smile…
1. This weather!!! OMG! It’s been gorgeous! It’s no secret I LOVE Fall and this week it’s felt a bit Fallish. It really just makes my heart go pitter patter. I don’t want to wish away the last month of Summer by any means but really, is there anything better than Fall?!?! (Random Fact: when Labor Day hits I bring out the Fall decor. Whether it’s 50 degrees or 80 degrees. It’s Fall in my eyes!)
2. If you haven’t ever paid for someone’s coffee in a drivethru I highly recommend you do so. Listen, I go to dunks at least once a day (sometimes two….it’s SO BAD!) and I’ve never paid for someone’s coffee. I hear about this being done all the time and thought it was so great but I always kind of froze up when I thought about doing so. So, yesterday when I pulled up to the window I noticed a police officer pulled up behind me. I just knew I had to pay for his coffee! I really hope it made him smile and feel appreciated. It absolutely made my day! The cool thing about paying it forward is it makes you feel just as good, if not better, than the person receiving the “gift”. The Sass family is extremely thankful for all our police officers do to keep us safe every single day!
3. My house. Yesterday I was walking home from dropping Kamryn off for a play date at our neighbors house. I looked up, saw our house and thought about how blessed we are. Life is crazy, stressful, hectic and fast. I hardly get a moment to sit back and think of all I’m thankful for. This house — makes me so thankful. For all the people who live in it, all the love in it and all the memories we create in it.
My hope for you is that you can pick out 3 random things that are making you smile today! In the hustle and bustle of life it’s easy to become consumed in the negatives. We’ve got to change that. SMILE! Be happy!! It’s the little things that matter. The good deeds that can be done for others, or that someone does for you. The roof over our head (Thank God). The weather! I’m learning how important it is to be grateful for everything I have. Most days are tough. I lose my patience way more than I should and I find myself getting wrapped up in things that didn’t go my way or all the things we don’t have. On those days I go to bed sad and I truly feel lonely. Going to bed last night and thinking of those 3 things, 3 silly little things, made me feel so great! I think I’m going to start a new routine for myself. Every night think of 3 things that made me smile that day. I encourage you to do the same! #smile :-)
