I've got to be honest. I go back and forth on what to do with this blog. I love writing and sharing things I love and use but I also just love sharing our everyday life to keep family and friends up to date. For now, a mix of the two will have to do....
It's a hot one today so after a dip in the pool I'm now inside in the AC. Although, we've spent a whole lot of time outside this past week. From 2 weeks ago to today the weather is drastically different! We went from pants and sweatshirts to 95 degrees quick! Today was my first time in the pool, ever. Yes, ever. Last year Mike and the kids begged and begged and begged me for an above ground pool and when I finally gave in, I was at the tail end of my pregnancy and while the weather definitely suggested a swim would be appropriate, I wasn't going to try to get up and over that ladder 9 months pregnant, no way! And then on July 16th I ended up having a c-section so I couldn't use it because I was recovering from surgery the remainder of the summer. I don't really like to swim at all but today was about as hot as it gets here, which means the pool was nice and warm comfortable, so I went in.
Archie usually won't keep hats on his head, but he did with this cute bucket hat.
That's the look he will forever give me to get anything he wants.
Kensington and Tenley are complete fish! They love to swim and are great swimmers!
My 7th child, Duke. He really does think he's one of the kids and he would do anything to go into that pool. He hopped right up here on Logan's chair like he was going to give his two cents on the conversation we were all having. I keep telling Mike he needs a dog friend, maybe then he might realize he's a dog and not a human.
Archer's first swim.
I took this screenshot from a video. He wasn't sure what to think. Give it time Archie, you're going to love it.
Mama and Kam in the pool today. I wonder if/when I'll get back in. LOL!
I really really pushed back and didn't want this pool. I'm not going to lie. It took a lot of convincing. But it truly was the best thing we did. The kids use it every single day and it's great for them to get some exercise in. Mike loves to jump in after a hot day at work and it's a good way to keep the kids busy and keep us outside and off of electronics. Dare I say I love it? Mike and I are getting the hang of it maintenance wise and I won't lie it makes me want a bigger pool. Maybe someday!
