Hey hey! Happy Sunday!
Well, as much as we savored every single second of summer, we knew eventually it would come to an end. Wednesday Kamryn, Logan, Kensington and Tenley started school and on Thursday it was Smith's first day of kindergarten!
Kamryn, sophomore year
Logan, 8th grade
Kensington, 5th grade
Tenley, 4th grade
Smith, kindergarten
Time has certainly flown by. I know we all say it again and again, but it truly goes so fast. I remember the day I sent Tenley to kindergarten and just had Smith home with me. It felt like I would have a lifetime with my baby boy before he went to school himself. Fast forward 5 quick years, add a baby and here we are. Thursday was a bittersweet day. Smith is so ready for kindergarten. He is excited but still a bit nervous. I've been praying about this day. About who would be in his class, who his teacher would be, the friends he is bound to make, etc etc. It's a big deal. I know he's going to do great, but my sweet boy is just that he's really really sweet and can be a bit sensitive. I just really hope he makes some great friends.
Here he is on Wednesday at kindergarten orientation.
There's been a lot of tears shed, by mama of course. I'm very lucky in the fact that I have the gift of perspective. With having Kamryn already a sophomore in high school I know just how fast it goes now. I'm going to savor every second because in a blink he will be a sophomore too. So, with lots of prayer and holding back tears I'm sending my little man off into the world (kind of). It's a big deal but I know he's going to do great! It's time for mama to just sit back and watch him grow.
I'll probably cry a few more times before it feels normal to send Smith off on that bus every day and then you'll find me doing exactly what I did 5 years ago. Enjoying every single millisecond I have with Archie at home. I'm not sure how I'll survive when I send my last baby off to school, but at least I've got some time before I have to do that.....
