Kamryn's 2 Year Check-Up!

Kamryn is 22.5 months old which means her 2nd birthday is right around the corner. I still cannot believe how fast 2 years has flown by. It seems like just yesterday I was pregnant with her!!
Yesterday was her 2 year check up. Our pediatrician suggested make the appointment a little early because of the business of the holiday season. I like her thinking and I think we will do this every year. And yes that means as long as Kam does not get sick we won’t have to go back to the doctors until she is 3! Seems weird considering how often we’ve been there over the past two years…but that also means she is very healthy!

Kamryn is now 24 lbs which puts her in the 22nd percentile for weight. Which is wonderful!! A few months back Kamryn was falling off the charts so we are so happy that she is finally putting on some weight and keeping it on. She’s still a peanut though!! She is 35 inches tall which puts her in the 90th percentile for height. She’s always been tall and I’m not sure where exactly it comes from!
She is right on track with her development and Dr. Niloff was very happy with how much she is talking and how well she is putting sentences together. Kamryn got a flu shot and a lead test done and the whole time the nurse was doing the lead test Kam sang “twinkle twinkle little star” to her. She never ever cries for shots but I thought for sure when she got her finger pricked and they had to squeeze it to get some blood for the little tubes we’d at least get a little fussiness from her? Nope! Not a peep!

She’s a very brave little girl and I am one proud Mama!!!

Why don’t friends with kids have time?

First things first, you need to read this:

Is it bad that I smiled the whole time I read this? The person who wrote the response did a very good job at explaining why we, stay at home moms, are so busy. I laughed the whole time I was reading it. HA! I wish having a kid was an excuse to relax and enjoy. Enjoy? Yes! Relax? Not until she goes to bed! For some reason I have this weird feeling quite a few people in my life could of very well been “Tacoma” and written this question…..

My mind has been going crazy since I read this almost 24 hours ago and in my mind….
it goes a little something like this:

After almost 2 years of being a mother I’ve come to this conclusion…IT DOESN’T MATTER WHAT PEOPLE THINK!! It doesn’t matter what ANYONE thinks!! I don’t care if you think what I talk about is stupid. I don’t care if your sick of hearing about my oh so beautiful baby girl. (I talk about her to anyone who will listen.) I don’t care if you get offended that I don’t call you or text you enough. I don’t care if I miss a night out because I want to spend it with my family. (A night in with my family is so much more fun than wasting money on overpriced drinks and throwing it all up after the fact.) I’m not trying to be insensitive here  or offend anyone but I don’t have the time worry about it anymore. My life is completely and utterly about my family and I’m okay with that. Mike and I still have fun…we still do go out every once in awhile. My life is just different than basically all of my friends now and I’ve finally gotten to the point that I’m okay with that. Being a wife and a mom fulfills me! This is what I’m meant to do at this moment in my life and for the rest of my life…even if we are doing this before everyone else has the guts to “take the plunge”
& to the ones who vow to wait years and years to “take the plunge”…yea you
I say this:
When you become a parent, you just adapt. I find so much joy in being a mother and I know Mike finds the same joy in being a father. Kamryn is hilarious, interesting, so incredibly loving and absolutely all around fantastic! We both do our best and try to keep lighthearted about it as much as we can…that way we don’t feel burdened by all the responsibility in raising her. We have fun with it! We enjoy every moment of it! Its an adventure and nothing to be scared of! When you become a parent you don’t “loose” yourself (I think that’s why a lot of people are scared to have kids)….just make sure you keep in mind that “yourself” is always changing….

Happy 21st Birthday Uncle Zacky!

Happy 21st Birthday to my brother Zack!

Or as Kamryn affectionately calls him “Gacky”

You are one of the greatest people I know and I’m not just saying that because you are my brother. Keep on doing what your doing and I know you will be great! You are the most amazing Uncle in the world. Kamryn loves her Gacky so so much! I love the relationship you and Mike have and some days I think you two are closer than me and you. You are my best friend and the best brother I could ever ask for.

We love you and are so proud of you!!

& yes ladies, he’s single! ;-)

Still Making Us Laugh

I was folding laundry the other day and when I turned around this is what I saw…

I’m still not exactly sure how she got in there…

Kamryn still continues to make us laugh each and everyday!

Turkeys!!

We always have wild turkeys walking around our neighborhood. It seems to be the same 6 that like to come by our house. We must have some good worms in our yard. Kamryn gets the biggest kick out of the turkeys. So when they are in our yard we always go to the front window and watch them.

Kamryn's 1st Haircut!

Last night I decided to cut Kamryn’s hair when she got out of the tub. I’ve been talking about it for awhile because her baby mullet was out of control, but never found the time to do it. So…since Mike was home last night, I just went for it! I am so glad I did. It looks so much better!!
Silly Girl!

Not too sure what’s going on…
Cheerios make it better!

All Done!!!

Hap Halweeeeeen!!

This Halloween was one to remember for sure. This was the first year Kamryn could go trick or treating and she had an absolute blast! I have never seen her more excited or hyper before we left he house. Seriously she was bouncing off the walls…and this was before the couple of M&M’s I let her have. All day long Kam was saying, “Hap Halweeeen!!” & “orrrrrr treat!!!” I’m not sure how she even understood what was going on but somehow she knew something big was about to happen. I didn’t really tell her about it, probably just a few times. How do you explain to a 22 month old what Halloween is?
We only went to a few houses because it was very cold out and our neighbors are all pretty spread out. There are lots of hills in our neighborhood so it was a little too much walking for a 22 month old. I think next year we will have to invest in a wagon. Kamryn was saying hi to everyone who would walk by! I think she thought Halloween was just for her honestly, because she wanted all eyes on her at all times. Big shocker…its Kamryn we’re talking about here!
We met a few neighbors whom we haven’t yet met and everyone was so nice! Of course, Kamryn was a big hit! She was outgoing! She would try and walk into the neighbors houses thinking we were there for a visit! She was so polite in saying “thank you” to everyone who gave her candy. We couldn’t wipe the smile off her face if we tried! She loved every second of it!

Okay, I know I’m being a little bias but she was just the CUTEST lady bug I’ve ever seen!! Kamryn loved her costume, couldn’t wait to put it on and fought me at the end of the night when we had to take it off. Her favorite part was her red “shoe-shoes”. Kamryn’s shoe fetish is probably going to be expensive.

After our quick 1/2 hour trick or treating session we came home to pass out candy. Well this just may of been the highlight of Kamryn’s night. She thought it was so funny that kids were coming to her house! I was in the kitchen getting dinner ready and all I hear is Kam saying “Alright…alright…” and she runs to the door and tries to pick up the bowl of candy because she saw kids coming up the front walkway to the door. Such a smart girl!
Check out the bruise smack dab in the middle of Kamryn’s forehead. She was running down the hallway last week and ran right into one of the door frames! Ouch!!
Gretzky wore his pumpkin shirt and didn’t like it one bit! Kamryn thought it was great though!
HAHA! She loves when we dress Gretzky!
What a great day/night!! It’s amazing to see a holiday like Halloween through your daughters eyes. The excitement was too much for even me to handle, let alone Kamryn. Mike, Kamryn and I had permanent smiles on our faces all night! We hope everyone had a fun and safe Halloween!!
What is beginning to be my favorite time of year is upon us. Thanksgiving, Christmas, Kamryn’s 2nd birthday and New Years are right around the corner. Which means lots of fun is in store for the next few months!
