Things

Just some random things about the Sass’ these days….
1. Tenley is one goofy/happy girl. She is always laughing and smiling! Hey! If I slept as much as she did I think I might be constantly happy too. She sleeps anywhere from 11-13 hours a night AND still naps 2-3 times a day!
2. I catch Kensington talking more and more. I say “catch” because randomly she’ll say a sentence or say a word she never really says. Like “mama” for example. Yes, she is 20 months old and still likes to torture me by barely ever saying mama…but every now and again I hear her calling for mama and I get SO excited. I hear “mama” approximately 3,364,782 times a day but there’s something about when Kensington says it…..
3. Kamryn is having a really hard time with her 6 year old molars coming in. Is this normal? She’s in a lot of pain….usually only right when she wakes up in the morning. I feel so badly for her. I wish those dang molars would just pop through!! I hate seeing her so miserable.
4. You know everyone told me boys were hard to potty train. I’m wondering if Logan heard them say this and is enjoying playing this game with me. Probably. Some days he’s awesome…some days I’m ready to rip my hair out. I’ve come to the conclusion he’s just being lazy because I know he totally gets it. But…I’m not stressing. I’m being as patient as I can be but let’s be honest, I’m so sick and tired of cleaning pee off the floor!!
5. Watching Kensington and Tenley’s bound grow is so much fun!! Kensington just absolutely lights up when she see’s Tenley. She’s always giving her toys, always hugging and kissing her. If Tenley cries Kensington goes “ohhh” in her sweet little voice and runs over to T and just looks at me like, “are you gonna help mama?”. Tenley is still a little unsure of Kensington…which is hilarious. It’s like she understands her “big sister” isn’t even two yet and cannot be trusted with a baby. Smart girl!!
6. Mike and I always say Summer is our busy time and once Fall hits we hibernate. We are SO busy this summer. I fee like every single weekend at least one night we are leaving them with a babysitter. But they love it and really it’s been so good for me to get out. 9 times out of 10 we leave after they are in bed or right before. They don’t even notice we’re gone!
7. This year school starts August 30th. Kamryn and I are keeping busy with Summer reading but, as always, I’m so sad to see the summer go. I really do love having her home with us!! As for Logan, unless he decides to stop having accidents between now and the end of August…he might be home with me until January. Little stinker!!
Those are just some random things about the Sass family
Happy Sunday!!!

Photo Dump

This one just keeps losing her baby teeth. The tooth fairy is going broke and has been scrambling for cash night after night because she only uses her debit card!
It needed to be documented. Tenley held her own bottle for the first time…..it hasn’t happened since.🙂
My main man ….
It’s becoming more and more obvious that we are on the cusp of the terrible 2’s with Kensington. Sweet one minute – sour the next. Gotta love it!!
I took Tenley to her 4 month check up on tuesday. Little lady is now 26 inches long and 12 lbs 12 oz.
Our sweet, happy, heathy, beautiful girl!!
Last night we did a impromptu beach trip. So much fun!!!
I hope you all have a great weekend!!

Happy Birthday Logan Michael!

On Logan’s birthday, July 17th, we celebrated with a Star Wars party at Pappi and GranDee’s house.
GranDee was trying to figure out a day when she could cook her famous pizza’s for Aunt Linda and Uncle Donnie while they were up from Texas. They had something planned every day they were here. So Dee and I decided to kill two birds with one stone and Dee offered to host Logan’s party while making pizza for everyone! YUM!!
I can’t believe my baby boy is FOUR! He had the best day!
Uncle Zacky and Logan in their matching masks.
Mike in his “I am your father” t-shirt. Logan is wearing a Darth Vadar t-shirt but it’s hard to see in all the pictures.

Present time!!
Logan got lots of cool stuff!
Thanks everyone!!
The next morning Logan, Kamryn and I played the Star Wars version of pin the tail on the donkey. We totally forgot to play at the party.
As most of you know we did have a little incident at Logan’s party. It was hot, really hot and due to the heat my dad ended up having a seizure. Somehow someway this all went down without any of the kids seeing. My dad was in the driveway and all the kids were in the backyard. We called 911 and my dad was taken to Mass General Hospital. Thank God my dad is okay and all signs are pointing to this happening solely because of the heat. But it was scary. Extremely scary. I was there sitting next to him holding his hand while the seizure was happening and I think its going to take awhile for me to get that image out of my head. We are going to need our Pappi around for many many years so its a major relief that this wasn’t anything more serious. Some people aren’t so lucky and we will never take that for granted. It definitely puts life into perspective. Life can change in a instant.
Happy Birthday to my Logan Michael. You are sweet, wild, stubborn, persistent, funny and definitely like things just so. I am so blessed to be your mama. We love you bubby!!

Lake Day!

Today we went to the lake and we all had a blast! Thank you Paulette for having us!! My Aunt Linda and Uncle Donnie are visiting from Texas so this was a great excuse for us to all head to Halifax.
I’ve officially decided this is Logan’s happy place! He was in his element. I think really he’s just happy being outside. This was his first time to ride the jet ski and I’m pretty sure his first time to go on a boat. Mike said he kept yelling “Faster! Faster!” the whole time. He’s definitely our little dare devil.
As usual, Miss Kamryn was a little more cautious. She drew the line at the boat and even that took some convincing. Once she went for a ride she absolutely loved it! But still, wouldn’t ride the jet ski.
Sweet Audrey
I brought the pack n play. I know my Kensie, she would’ve been all. over. the. place. Boats, jet skis, water … I know my limits. She was definitely going to need to be corralled. At one point we had Kensington, Caleb and Audrey all in there together. It was hilarious. They were wrestling and giggling. So cute!!
Logan and Caleb on the boat
Mike on the kayak. He was able to sneak out of work a half hour early and meet us there.
Miss Tenley was an angel. I barely heard a peep out of her all day… I swear, she knows as the 4th baby she needs to be easy and really, she’s the easiest baby EVER!
Thanks again Paulette. The food was delicious and of course, fun was had by all! Let’s not make it 4 years until we do that again. Last time we did this Logan was only a few weeks old. Craziness!!

Happy 4th!

July 4th 2016

All piled in the wagon at the parade
I don’t know about you, but I really think my daughter has a promising future as a bathing suit model.😉
It was SO hot out. These kiddos could not wait to set up the pool! Logan did not get out ALL DAY. Such a fish!
We had the best day! Pappi and GranDee had a cook out and the kids played all day with their cousins. As always, I was too busy chasing kids, having fun, trying to eat a bite or two, make sure the kids were behaving, etc etc. To take many pictures. I really really need to get better at that!
At night we took all the kids up to the sea wall to watch some fireworks. Mike and I were a little nervous. We didn’t know how it would go. I was like well, let’s try it…if it doesn’t work we go home! Let just say, I sat there in awe. I was so proud of them. Not a single meltdown ALL DAY. These kids were all up wayyy past their bedtime and they all totally just went with the flow. On the way home Mike and I laughed about how when we just had Kamryn…we didn’t even attempt the fireworks. Logan’s first 4th, NOPE! I can’t remember what we did the year I was pregnant with Kensie for the life of me, but I honestly don’t remember ever having Logan up there with us. Last year? I put Logan and Kensington to bed and then just took Kamryn to the fireworks. This year….we brought all 4! I really thought the loud booms would scare Kensington and Tenley but they loved it. Well, Kensington loved it, Tenley just chilled. This makes me so excited for upcoming 4th’s. The McCauls LOVE the 4th of July! Looks like the Sass kiddos are following suit.
The GORGEOUS sunset
The McCaul “second” cousins. The ones in Boston anyways.
Minus Caleb … poor buddy was not having it!
We hope you all had a fun and safe 4th of July!!

Beginning MY Thirties

I look at every new decade of my life as a new beginning. I know some people think that sort of thing is silly. Especially on New Years. I however, do not. I love the idea of a clean slate. Life can be hard and stressful and chaotic. Thinking its all wiped clean and you can start over, isn’t all that bad of a concept. I embrace new beginnings. Plus, when we look back on our lives you always hear people say things like “In my 20s … In my 30s.” I think we all group our life into decades.

So, I thought today I’d write down my hopes and dreams for my 30s. Some of these may happen, some of these probably won’t. But….why not dream?! I’ll never stop hoping and dreaming.

-finally get the house in order//get more organized
-renovate both bathrooms and kitchen
-be the best mama I can be
-financial stability
-build our dream home (here or in another state)
-travel A LOT
-start my own small business, whatever that may be
-help Mike start an electrical business
-stop caring about what everyone thinks
-be more patient
-be kinder
-be more understanding
-make more time for date nights with my husband
-make more time for family nights out
-get into a groove as a family of 6
-remember it’s okay not to know what the future holds
-always remember this is your life. Your journey. Nobody else’s. You don’t owe anyone an explanation.
-enjoy your family life//stress less
-guide Lexi in whatever way I can to help her get into into a good college
-watch her succeed and graduate college (you can do it Lou!!)
-make more time for extended family
-make more time for friends
-be better to yourself health and fitness wise
-build your confidence
-BE HAPPY!

I think that’s a good start. I have heard over and over again from many people that their 30s were the best years of their life. They finally came to understand who they are. They became more confident. Life just made sense. etc etc This makes me look forward to my 30s more than anything else. My Grammy told me when she hit 30 everything came together for her. I am hoping the same happens for me! As my 20s came to an end I had those feelings of not wanting to turn 30. But when I really think of it, I think I’m just on the cusp of a very special time.

I'll eat you up....

……I love you so.
