Hello Summer!!

Today marks Kamryn and Logan's last day of school!

Kindergarten started a day later than the rest of the kids so the picture above is technically Kamryn's second day. But, for all intents and purposes, first day and last day! Look at how much they've grown and matured?!? I cannot believe they will be going into third and first grade. Does that make me old?! Don't answer that....

KAMRYN ALEXIS

This girl absolutely blew me away this year. Kamryn has struggled a little in reading and has gotten some extra help since kindergarten. She's always been just a smidge below grade level. But this year about halfway trough the year everything clicked and she not only caught up and but she excelled. She still takes her time with reading and sometimes needs a little reassurance but that's Kamryn. She likes things perfect and doesn't want to mess up. She's definitely got a Type A personality. Kamryn made some great friends this year and she's definitely got her little girl squad. It's really fun to see her build REAL relationships with other kids. She absolutely LOVED her teacher this year and has even gotten teary eyed a few times telling me how much she's going to miss her. I'm excited to have this girl with me all summer. She's THE BEST big sister and such a huge help! Kamryn hopes to spend her summer at the beach and pool. Smart girl!

LOGAN MICHAEL

Where do I begin? I was so nervous about him going to kindergarten. Way more than the typical nerves. I almost pulled him out right before school started I was so nervous. Logan's birthday is July 17th so he turned 5 right before school started at the end of August. As you all know, a lot of people would choose to wait a year and send their kid as a confident 6 year old. But, while I was nervous, my gut kept telling me he was ready. It wasn't always easy and he had quite a few days with tears but he did it and he grew up SO much in the process. Logan has blown me away! He is doing great and everything he struggled with at the beginning of the year he caught up with by the end. He got glasses which made a HUGE difference. Poor kid couldn't see! (mom fail) Logan has been getting some OT and PT to strengthen his core muscles because he lacks pretty much any muscle stregth in his core and it's helped him so much. He loves his time in the motor room. There was a time when Logan struggled to sit up straight during rug time and now he does it with ease. He's so smart and absolutely LOVED kindergarten! I know he'll do awesome in first grade. Logan's biggest concern with summer is if he can "just stay home tomorrow". You got it bud!

Cheers to Summer!!!

Life Lately

Here's a little bit of life lately for your Tuesday....

Lexi graduated and we could not be more proud! She will be attending Franklin Pierce University in New Hampshire this Fall, double majoring in Elementary Education and Special Ed.

The end of the school year has been crazy! Filled with field trips, field days, everyday has a different theme! We are pooped! Friday is the kids last day and they we are so ready for Summer!!

Relaxing a bit before Field Day!

Love this girl!

I was a chaperone for Kamryn's field trip last week where they went to a local pond and learned all about water safety! I'm so thankful to be a stay at home mom and get to do these things. It is such a blessing!!

Kensington enjoying the water table. This one...she hates pools, the bathtub, the ocean,...really any body of water but loves the water table! Go figure!

Logan however, is happiest in water.

Oh Tenley Girl.... She's a maniac. She goes 1,000 mph 24/7. I've never had a kid with so much energy. She gets into absolutely everything and is always SO LOUD. We call her Tenley the tornado because there's no other way to describe her. But at times she can be SO sweet!! She's always hugging everyone and has the cutest (at times devilish) smile. Let's just say that smile is her saving grace....

Tenley giving Kensington loves.
Be still my heart! <3
These two have the BEST relationship. I could just sit and watch them play for hours!

Logan during messy day at school! The best day EVER!!

He's done so great this year in kindergarten. I can't believe he's almost a first grader. As some of you might remember we went back and forth on if we were going to "red shirt" Logan or send him to kinder as a very young 5 year old (his birthday is in July). Well after weighing the pros and cons we decided to send him and hope for the best. It was absolutely the BEST THING we could've done. He has grown leaps and bounds this year. No regrets!!

That's it for life lately...

I'm Back!! .... I think...

Here we go again....Maybe.

Lately I've been missing sitting in this chair and typing on these keys. I took a break, one I didn't even intend to take. It's been almost 6 months since I last did this and it kind of feels good. The reason I stopped blogging was nothing more than lack of time. With two kids in full time school and my sister finishing up her senior year, blogging took a back seat. Truthfully, I'd like to write again - I miss this type of interaction with our friends and the people I've met through blogging, who have since become friends. I miss the therapy it provided me at times. Having a space to document my children's childhood is invaluable. I know someday I'm going to cherish this blog as I look back and can read exactly how I felt in every moment. And how cool for my kids when they become parents to see - oh yes, mom went through this too. So after a couple Facebook posts and an Instagram poll it seems a handful of you miss reading here as well. I'm going to try to combine my old blog that I shut down with this one. So it's going to go all the way back to when Kamryn was born. This makes me SO happy! I'm contemplating changing the name back to The Sass Sircus as well...but we'll see. I love both names - perhaps we'll do another poll and you all can help me! Better yet, if you have suggestions of something different let me know!

I'm not sure how much time I can commit to the blog with the school year coming to a close for Kamryn and Logan but I'm definitely going to put the blog higher up on my priority list. I hope you'll all read along with us..

Thanks everyone, as always, for clinking that link and coming here to read whatever randomness I come up with that day!

Until next time....
