It's been a minute since I updated the blog, but life has been so incredibly busy that I haven't had the chance. Isn't that always the way? Anywho let's get started....
I am officially in the homestretch of this pregnancy! I cannot believe it! It's been a tough one for me both mentally and physically but somehow it both seems to have gone on forever but also has seemed to fly by. Actually, if I'm being honest this pregnancy has seemed to be my fastest pregnancy by far. (But ask me again in a few weeks.) I'm sure I can blame our everyday busy life for that. I'm currently 33 weeks (will be 34 Sunday) and feeling pretty good for the most part. There have been some unexpected curve balls thrown in my direction that I've never dealt with in pregnancy before, one being gestational diabetes. It's pretty wild this being my 6th pregnancy that this came up but here we are! The first few weeks were extremely stressful for me. I've been really anxious this entire pregnancy, so it was no surprise to me that I was so overwhelmed with this new diagnosis. My days were consumed with what to eat. when to test my blood sugars, how I was doing/feeling, is the baby okay etc etc. Now, I understand this is pretty common and I know quite a few people who have had gestational diabetes but for me, after five normal pregnancies, this was a lot to take on. After checking my blood sugars 4 times a day for about 3 weeks my doctor decided I only needed to test them when I wake up and after dinner. My numbers have been great, and I eat pretty much the same thing all week long, I just rotate what I eat. With my stress coming down, my blood sugars seem to be even better. So, win win!! My doctor plans to induce me early and we will have that conversation on July 1st as to when we think this babe may be here. IF I make it to being induced....I didn't with my last 2 babies. I'll try to update at least once more before baby gets here...but no promises!
As for the rest of the Sircus, they are doing great! The kids get out of school exactly one week from today and we cannot wait to enjoy the lazy days of summer! As all parents know the last few weeks of school are very busy so we've been back and forth to the schools quite a bit. Tomorrow is Kamryn's semi formal, and I cannot believe we are already here! Next week she graduates 8th grade and then she's on to high school!! Logan is finishing up his first year of middle school and while the year has had its ups and downs, he's definitely ending it on a high note and for that we are so grateful! Tomorrow morning, we have his ancient civilization fair and are looking forward to that! Kensington is finishing up 3rd grade and had the best year. She's made so many new friends and has really enjoyed the perks of being one of the "older kids" in the elementary school. Tenley also had a great year. She too has made a ton of new friends and has really worked hard at getting into the new groove/expectations of a second grader. They've been having a blast with all the end of the year activities and field trips!
This mama is TIRED.
